Daisy had a paintbrush in her hand before she even learned to walk! Legend has it that she painted her first masterpiece, "Sunset over the Sandbox", at the tender age of two, using only ketchup and mustard! With her wild, rainbow-colored hair and her ever-present tool belt chockful of paint tubes, she was a sight to behold. Daisy was the livewire of the group, always ready with a wink, a grin, and a paintbrush loaded with her favorite color - shocking pink! So, the next time you're in California, keep an eye out for these Paint-Splatter Kids. Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups. Whether you're planning a camp, a retreat, or a team-building excursion, our serene setting and well-equipped facilities provide the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable experience.
Parents looking for an activity that will cultivate creativity and self-confidence in their children will find just that in my art classes. Children will learn a classical method of drawing and painting that will stay with them for a lifetime. They will begin the program with drawing pictures and coloring them with pastels. Once they have mastered drawing, they may progress to watercolor painting. With the step-by-step tools they will be given at the first class, children can build a drawing and add colorful, true to life effects to make a beautiful work of art. In my classes, each child works independently and progresses at their own pace. This weekly, 90 minute session allows for ample time for children to take their time, clean up, and finish class with a mini art show. With the guidance of my one-on-one instruction, children will gain self-confidence and find joy in discovering their own creative successes. These classes provide a fun and supportive environment where children can express their creativity and develop technical skills that will last a lifetime.
