Our older campers are reminded of their childhood and can enjoy the imaginative play of their younger selves. This also gives them the opportunity to be role models for our younger campers. With our guidance, they can develop empathy, patience, and leadership skills through activities like sports, hiking, and art. Younger campers benefit from watching the older campers and can learn how to navigate challenges, explore in different ways, or share their ideas. During “choice activities” campers group by their shared interests, rather than age. We also encourage making friends with age-mates, and this is made easier in a camp community atmosphere.
