In the midst of this sensory paradise, we have our fearless leader, Mr. Pricklepants – a jovial, oversized, talking cactus with a heart just as big as his spiky green physique. Mr. Pricklepants guides these adventurous kids through the vibrant world of Sensory Play. He takes them on journeys through rainbow-colored sands, fluffy slime clouds, and shimmering water bead oceans under the piercing blue Arizona sky. Each child in Arizona's Sensory Play land is brave, creative, and bursting with laughter. Their tiny hands are constantly in motion, creating worlds out of messy play-dough, discovering the gooey magic of slime, and becoming mini-scientists with their favorite sensory experiments. But the funniest part is, Mr. Pricklepants himself is ticklish! Oh yes, for a cactus, this is incredibly unusual and downright hilarious! When the kids tickle him, he giggles and wiggles, shimmies and shakes, sending soft, harmless prickles flying everywhere like a confetti cannon! So, imagine the lovely sight: a group of Arizona's finest, most adventurous kids laughing and playing under a golden sun, guided by their giggling, prickly friend. For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Lastly, we have a calming sensory room, a tranquil space designed to help children relax and recharge. This room is equipped with soothing sensory activities, providing a peaceful environment for your child to unwind after an energetic play session.
