About La Fleur Stables

Dan and Marlene La Fleur founded La Fleur Stables in 1965. They are a couple of horse lovers from Stoughton, WI, who have devoted their lives to American Saddlebreds. They purchased their first horse farm on Highway 138 between Stoughton and Oregon. Marlene had horses growing up and, as a young woman, had shown Quarter Horses exclusively with her father, Arnold Anderson. It was then that Marlene’s love for Saddlebreds began. Dan is a stock and commodities broker and Marlene is a dedicated horse lover. They have three children, and daughter Neva has taken on the family business, training horses and giving riding lessons. Come join us at La Fleur Stables, where we are dedicated to providing the perfect atmosphere for horse lovers, families, youth, adults, and investors. Our 15 rolling acres are filled with horses, colors, and personalities. We are devoted to helping each rider/owner develop self-awareness, independence, confidence, and creativity through riding and caring for the horses. Our goal is to give you a positive experience of the world of horses, so come step into the adventure.

Grooming Classes

Goals --You Love the Beauty of the Horse… You want to feel great therapy with the horse. Grooming Horses is a great way to be around and learn from the ground. How a horse communicates with you and what they like when you groom them. Ages: 6 yrs old - Adults

Orientation to Horses

This introductory set of lessons enables children (7 years on up) and adults to establish a meaningful understanding of the benefits of being around horses and horseback riding. The program is an orientation to safely working around horses, grooming horses, learning how horses communicate, experience leading horses through a variety of challenges, and preparing to ride a horse.

Horse & Pony Experience

This experience is excellent for ages younger than 9 yrs old. This two-hour experience is the perfect time to hang out with the horses. The experience helps young children learn the basics of horsemanship and get comfortable on the farm in a fun-filled, family-oriented environment.
