These gutsy little guys and gals absolutely love to explore the wilderness, always armed with their trusty cheesehead hats for protection and inspiration. Each morning, with the rising sun as their alarm clock, the Hiking Hobgoblins of WI set off on their newest adventure. The rolling hills, dense forests, and sparkling lakes of Wisconsin are their playground. Their leader, a loveable and goofy fellow named Sir Gouda Giggles, guides them through the wilderness with an infectious laughter that seems to echo through the valleys. Wisconsin is an adventurer's dream, rich with towering trees older than your great-great-grandparents, bountiful wildlife that'll have your eyes popping, and trails that wind like a never-ending jigsaw puzzle. And don't even get me started on the lakes! They are so clear and blue, you'd swear they are giant mirrors reflecting the sky! The Hiking Hobgoblins laugh, play and explore, turning every rock, sniffing every flower, and greeting every woodland creature they meet. They are fearless, curious, and always hungry for their favorite snack, Wisconsin's world-famous cheese! After all, every adventurer needs fuel, and what's better than a chunk of squeaky, delicious cheese to keep the energy levels high? Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups. Whether you're planning a camp, a retreat, or a team-building excursion, our serene setting and well-equipped facilities provide the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable experience.
At our camps, girls have the opportunity to explore and express themselves in a safe and supported all-girl environment. Our expert staff and Girl Scout sisters have been providing these opportunities for more than 100 years, giving campers the confidence to try new things. As a result, our campers develop courage, confidence, and character – qualities that will help them to make the world a better place. Through the dedication of more than 6,500 volunteers, we are able to serve nearly 18,000 girls in southern Minnesota, western Wisconsin, and one county in Iowa. Our camps provide girls with an enriching and empowering experience. With the help of our experienced staff and Girl Scout sisters, campers are encouraged to take risks, be creative, and develop their character. By providing a safe and supportive environment, girls can find the courage to make the world a better place.
