About Camp Sangamon

Welcome to Camp Sangamon, the perfect place for boys ages 9-16 to spend their summer! This camp is different - we empower boys to take their summer into their own hands. Boys will be able to choose their own activities and how long they spend on each one. Our activity periods are designed to be flexible, so kids can move on when they're ready and stay as long as they would like. At Camp Sangamon, boys will be able to practice making their own decisions in a safe environment. This will help them develop independence and initiative, and they will learn important life skills that will serve them throughout childhood and adulthood. Parents can rest assured that their sons are in a supportive environment that encourages them to make good decisions. Camp Sangamon provides boys with the opportunity to make their own choices and to explore their interests. Boys will be able to find their own path each and every day and take ownership of their summer. They will get the chance to become more confident and independent, which will help them in their future.

Aquatics

Waterfront programs offer something for everyone. We teach kayaking and canoeing, as well as sailing on Lake Champlain. You can take Red Cross Swimming Lessons from certified instructors. Free time includes Tower-Jumping, Kayaking, Canoeing, and Row-Boating. We Fish for Bass, Bluegill, Perch, and Catfish.

Farming

We take great pride in teaching Sangamon campers the Vermont tradition of homesteading with our farm and garden program. The skills we teach include raising and caring for animals, growing food, cooking, and canning.

Sports

There is a huge range of sporting activities on offer at Sangamon, such as tennis, soccer, archery, mountain biking, and kayaking. We also have regular competitive tournaments in sports such as basketball, tennis, table tennis, and dodgeball.
