Now, Texas might be known for cowboys, cattle, and country music, but there's one thing you might not know. The kids in Texas are crazy about hockey! Yes, you heard right, hockey! You might think it's all football and rodeos down in the Lone Star State, but these Texas tykes are as passionate about slapshots and hat tricks as they are about touchdowns and rodeo tricks. Imagine a bunch of pint-sized cowboys and cowgirls, swapping their lassos for hockey sticks, and their cowboy boots for ice skates. Their Stetsons are traded in for helmets as they zip and zoom on ice rinks instead of galloping on prairies. Tex never missed a game. He'd sit on the sidelines, chomping on jalapeno-flavored popcorn, hooting and hollering as the teams battled it out on the ice. There was nothing funnier than seeing a kid chase the puck on a breakaway, only to slip and land on his padded bottom. Or watching a goalie do a comical jig as he tried to block a shot.
