Led by none other than the cool, capricious cowboy artist, Doodlebug Dan, who sports a paint-splattered ten-gallon hat and a pair of crayon-colored chaps. These kids are as diverse as the Texan landscape itself. Some are as enthusiastic and wild as the tumbleweeds that roll across the wide-open plains, others as calm and reflective as the tranquil surface of the Guadalupe River, but they all share a love for creating marvelous masterpieces. Through sizzling summers and bone-chilling winters, the Art & Crafts club keeps their creativity flowing like the Rio Grande. In Doodlebug Dan's workshop, beneath the shade of a giant cottonwood tree, you'll see the children huddled around tables, their faces glowing with concentration. They use everything from paints and pencils to the most unconventional of materials like prickly cactus needles and shiny armadillo shells, to create their pieces of art. An outsider might think it's all a chaotic, colorful mess, but to Doodlebug Dan and his posse, it's a symphony of imagination with every child playing their part. Their laughter rings through the air, the sound as sweet and cheerful as a mockingbird's song on a spring morning. Since our inception in 2018, we have been the proud USA National Office for the acclaimed World Robot Olympiad, a global robotics competition that has over 35,000 participants from more than 80 countries. We offer our well-rounded programs at a range of locations including schools, community centers, park districts, libraries, and even religious institutions. We are committed to making our educational opportunities available to as many children as possible, regardless of their location. Every day at KECamps promises a unique and thrilling adventure. No two camp days are identical, ensuring that each day is a fresh, exciting experience for our young campers. We kickstart our days with 'Hello Camp', a morning gathering that allows everyone to mingle and bond. The campers and staff participate in a range of organized activities, allowing them to get to know each other better. We also go over the day's schedule and harmonize our special camp song, building a sense of unity and anticipation for the day ahead. As the day progresses, the campers will be engaged in numerous activities, ensuring they're constantly stimulated and entertained. Each activity is designed to keep our campers active, challenged, and having fun. They'll be immersed in a diverse mix of experiences throughout the day, fostering personal growth, new friendships, and unforgettable memories. We wind down each day with 'Goodbye Camp'. This is a time for campers to reflect on their day's experiences, participate in concluding activities, and share their thoughts. It's also when we hand out SMILE Bands and provide snacks. Finally, as we begin to part ways, we say our "see you later's", leaving the campers excited and eager for the next day's adventures at KECamps.
