About URJ Greene Family Camp
At URJ Greene Family Camp, camp magic isn't just for summer! We bring the joy, camaraderie, and enriching activities of camp into every day of the year. We've made it our mission to be a constant source of engaging Jewish experiences, broadcasting the best of our camp activities to our community, no matter the season.
We're proud to say our programs, both summer and year-round, are firmly rooted in four core Jewish values. First, we emphasize Hineni - being an individual and understanding one's unique worth. Second, we promote Reut - the creation of meaningful, lasting relationships. We also value Kavod, meaning respect for peers and oneself. And, finally, we celebrate Am Yisrael, the community of Jewish people.
These time-honored, universally embraced values provide the foundation for every event we organize. They're how we anchor our activities in the rich tapestry of Jewish tradition. By doing so, we aim to ensure that Judaism remains relevant, accessible, and meaningful for all our campers in the present day.

Machar
Machar is a short introduction to GFC life and is specially designed for campers who are looking to try a Greene Family Camp experience during a 3-night mini session. Whether your child has never spent time away from home or has had overnight experiences elsewhere, Machar offers your child a unique taste of the magic of GFC within a community of Jewish peers.
Campers will stay together in cabins and will be guided by our well-trained staff members. During the day, campers will participate in traditional camp activities, sing favorite camp songs, and eat delicious camp meals in our Dining Hall. They’ll jump in the pool, climb on the ropes course, try a new science experiment, and so much more! At night, Machar campers will engage in evening programs and will say goodnight during Siyum (our bedtime ritual).
We offer an incredibly diverse array of activities. Some activities are done as a bunk or unit, some chosen before the camper arrives at camp, and some available during camper’s free choice time.
Our activities are taught by incredibly talented counselors that are experts on the subject. Former national championship gymnasts, critically acclaimed balloon artists, accomplished photographers, and college crew team captains have all graced our summers and every year we are impressed and excited about our overqualified staff members.
A beautiful lake filled with lake toys. A huge challenge course. Indoor facilities including a massive gymnasium, gymnastics gym, arts center, and more. Plus, EVERYTHING is air conditioned.
