Once upon a time, in the teeny-weeny state of Rhode Island, known for its shimmering beaches and delicious clam cakes, a gaggle of kids found joy in an unexpected sport, Taekwondo. A sport, traditionally from the far-off lands of Korea, had found its way into their hearts and feet. And these weren't your ordinary kids. No, these were the Rhode Island Rumblekids. The Rumblekids were a motley crew of high-kicking, ninja-chopping, board-breaking enthusiasts. Their leader was a spunky, snappy eight-year-old girl named Ri-Ri, who could break a pine board with her bare pinky finger. She was as tough as the Rhode Island Red, the state bird, but much more friendly, and with fewer feathers of course! Ri-Ri and her friends practiced Taekwondo every day, under the watchful eye of their beloved instructor, Master Mantis. Master Mantis was a peculiar character. He was as tall and lean as a lamppost, with the most impressive mustache anyone had ever seen. It twirled up at the ends and wiggled when he laughed, which was often because he had a great sense of humor. Master Mantis could make everyday Taekwondo practice feel like an epic, fun-filled adventure. Every day, the Rumblekids would learn to twirl, kick, and punch. All while laughing and falling over each other. Master Mantis made sure they didn't only learn the moves but also the heart of the sport - respect, integrity, and discipline. These Rhode Island kids may have been small, just like their state, but they were mighty in spirit, just like their love for an enormous adventure called Taekwondo. Through the wind, rain, or sunshine, you could always find the Rhode Island Rumblekids, practicing their high kicks and low bows, giggling, and becoming the best Taekwondo masters they could be.
