Nestling in one corner of this magical place is Rumble Tumble Gymnastics Academy, where kids flip, flop, and fly around like human-shaped rockets, led by the legendary coach, Captain Cartwheel. Captain Cartwheel, also known as CC, is rumored to be a retired superhero who swapped saving the world for coaching kids gymnastics. Known for his sparkly red leotard, bushy mustache, and his ability to cartwheel faster than a Ferrari, CC is adored by all the gymnastics-loving kids of Rhode Island. The children who attend Rumble Tumble are a lively bunch. They are as agile as squirrels, as flexible as spaghetti noodles, and have the heart of a lion. They can vault like kangaroos, swing on bars like monkeys, and balance on beams like tightrope walkers. Their laughter echoes through the gym, while their dreams of becoming the next Simone Biles or Sam Mikulak twinkle in their eyes. There's Billy, the bouncy boy who can do more backflips than anyone can count. And Lily, the tiny tot who can walk on her hands longer than she can on her feet! Then there's the mischievous duo, Fred and George, who are so synchronized that people often call them the "Twins of Tumble". Even though Rhode Island is tiny, the big dreams and even bigger talent of its gymnastics kids make it an extraordinary place. Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups. Whether you're planning a camp, a retreat, or a team-building excursion, our serene setting and well-equipped facilities provide the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable experience.
One of the objectives of our East Bay Gymnastics programs is FUN! Of course, this is cool with the kids but parents sometimes fail to realize the importance of fun in a learning setting. People often feel that when the fun is present, learning is not. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Why is fun so important? Well-adjusted learners form an early and life-long subconscious association defining any attempt to learn something new as challenge = risk = learning = fun!
