About Kids in the Game Camps
Michael Murphy had a dream to provide every child with the same opportunities he had while growing up. In 2003, he founded Kids in the Game, gathering a bag of used basketballs and soccer balls. This was the first step in his mission to help children get involved in sports and fitness.
Today, Kids in the Game provides programming and equipment to over 5,000 kids in New York City. This would not have been possible without the dedication of Michael Murphy and his mission to help children reach their physical activity goals. The organization has grown and evolved over the years, but the core belief remains the same: that every child should have the opportunity to play.
Programs
The classes, camps and experiences this business offers.
Field Day Programs
Creates an atmosphere of community and school pride. Increases sportsmanship and prosocial behaviors. Provides a fun-filled day for all students, staff and families involved!
Recess Programs
Positive play turns into a positive learning day. During recess time, our coaches provide activity stations that include structured activities, supplemented by a free play area. This helps ensure that all students have a reason to look forward to recess.
Phys Ed Programs
Kids in the Game coaches are trained to perform baseline assessment and track student progress throughout the year. This is done through both formal and informal assessment. Being able to provide real-time feedback and praise allows our coaches to create a positive learning environment for every kid!
After-School Programs
Our after-school programming is made up of both full, comprehensive programs, and enrichment style classes. We offer your students the option participating in a variety of activities, or focusing on and developing a specific skill set or a combination of both! Both programs are built on mentorship and emphasizing valuable life lessons.
