Rushford, New York is home to the unique and diverse outdoor destination of Hanging Bog Wildlife Management Area. This lush area comprises 4,500 acres of natural hardwood forests, conifer plantations, fields, streams, marshes, and a bog. Located just two miles away from Rushford Lake, this area offers families a chance to explore and learn about nature. At the center of this area is Camp Rushford, the only DEC Camp specifically built for conservation education. Constructed out of logs salvaged from the Adirondacks after the blow down of 1950, Camp Rushford is the perfect place for families to take part in interactive activities and classes designed to educate and entertain. Whether you're looking for a fun outdoor adventure or an educational experience, Hanging Bog Wildlife Management Area has something for everyone. With its unique and diverse landscape, Camp Rushford at its center, and Rushford Lake nearby, it's the perfect place to explore and learn about nature.
