Located in beautiful Rockaway, NJ, Camp Marcella is a sleep away camp specifically designed for individuals with special needs including blindness and visual impairment. Founded in 1947 by the NJ Camp for Blind Children, Camp Marcella has been providing a complete camping experience for over 70 years. With the help of over 1300 organizations and individuals including the Lions Clubs of New Jersey, Camp Marcella strives to provide a safe and welcoming environment where special needs children can learn and grow. At Camp Marcella, staff members are experienced and specially trained to provide quality care and instruction to campers with special needs. Activities are designed to build confidence, independence, and social skills. Campers also have the opportunity to build relationships with their peers and take on new challenges. With a range of activities from sports and swimming to the arts and music, Camp Marcella is the perfect place for special needs children to enjoy a summer of fun and adventure.

Youth & Teen Camps (Ages 13- 18)

Camp Activities are designed to meet the individual needs of campers. Small group activities are planned to engage teens while working on fine and gross motor skills, socialization, traditional life skills, and providing a traditional camping experience. Children will have the opportunity to explore the camp’s natural setting with hands-on activities. Campers may register for 1- 2 of these weeks.
