FOR DANCERS ONLY opened its doors in Little Falls, NJ in 1988, and since then it has steadily grown to become one of the premier dance studios in the country. In 2020, FDO moved to Totowa, NJ, and we now are happy to call Totowa our home.
FDO offers classes from basic beginner to advanced and competitive levels, age two through adult. Our class genres include Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, Musical Theater, Pilates, Stretch, Leap and Turn, Strength and Conditioning, Hip Hop and Acrobatics. Our experienced faculty will ensure that your child will learn in a safe and fun environment as they progress and develop their technical abilities.
At FDO, you will be able to see and enjoy your child's accomplishments as they progress and culminate each year with our annual Recital. With our excellent faculty and diverse classes, your child can gain the confidence and skills they need to be successful in the world of dance.

Pre-School Classes
These dance classes are created for the Preschooler, enabling the young dancer to develop self awareness and discover dance ( basic ballet and jazz) in a playful atmosphere through music and games.
These 45 minute fun-filled Preschool classes will introduce your little dancer to beginner Ballet steps and a taste of Jazz developing rhythm and coordination, both of which are an important foundation for further dance study. Classes include games and songs designed to stimulate the imagination and creativity of each child and encourage strength, flexibility, balance and precision in the child’s body.
Combo 1: Ballet/Tap
A fun-filled combo class will help your little dancer learn the basics of Ballet, a perfect foundation for all his/her future dance styles. The fun and rhythm of Tap is also introduced at this level. (Class length - 1 hour)
Preschool Combo 1: Age 4-5
Kindergarten Combo 1: Age 5-6
Ballet
Ballet is the foundation of all dance. At FDO, ballet technique is incorporated into all classes, but specifically focused on in this genre class. Ballet encourages grace and posture, physical coordination, discipline, mental strength and focus. it has also been most recently noted to promote calming and mindfulness. Ballet dancers also learn to creatively express themselves within the structure of the dance.
Students learn ballet terminology and the pronunciation, meaning, and precise body form and movement associated with each term. Emphasis is placed on developing flexibility and strengthening the legs, feet, and body core.
