About ShaoLin Kung Fu of Asheville

At Shaolin Kung Fu of Asheville, we are dedicated to offering our students the chance to learn this ancient martial art in its purest form. For over 1,500 years, Shaolin Kung Fu has been the cornerstone of martial arts. This precious body of human knowledge was developed to develop both the body and the mind and is just as relevant today as it was to the Ch’an Buddhist monks of 6th Century China. At Shaolin Kung Fu of Asheville, we strive to stay true to the traditions and techniques that have been passed down through our direct lineage. We are the only school and instructor in Western North Carolina certified by Master Sin Kwang The and are committed to providing our students with the opportunity to learn this martial art in its purest form. Our goal is to give our students access to this incredible art with the belief that it can still be as beneficial today as it was centuries ago.

Kung Fu For Kids.

Our Kids Classes provide a fun, fast-paced environment that is high energy without losing focus on achieving goals. Children ages five and up are welcome to attend. The primary curriculum for this age group centers around developing focus, discipline, and respect, both for one another and oneself. Secondly, we strive to instill physical fitness and teach self-defense. Introductory classes for this group are Tuesday's and Thursday's at 6pm.

Kung Fu For Adults

The most common translation for Kung Fu is “hard work.” Why would anyone want even more hard work in their life? Luckily for us, kung fu can give powerful answers to that question. It teaches us how to approach difficult situations and helps us develop skills that lead to improved focus, composure, and confidence. In this modern world that touts the benefits of healthy living and a strong body, kung fu really shines. Physical fitness and self-defense are at the core of everything we do. But this isn’t just another trendy gym – working side by side with other practiced and amateur martial artists will help you build a strong network of meaningful relationships. You will leave exhausted, but the benefits, whether mentally, physically, or socially, will last you a lifetime. Adult classes are for ages 13 and up.
