Each one of them is as diverse as the state's landscapes—from the smoky peaks of the Appalachian Mountains to the sun-drenched beaches of the Atlantic coast, they're all unique in their own amazing ways. Leading this harmonious crew is Maestro WobbleKnees, a whacky character who conducts with a magical baton that dances and fiddles in the air with his every move. This baton, rumored to be carved from a whispering willow in the enchanted Blue Ridge Forest, is said to have the ability to transform any voice into a symphony of splendid sounds. WobbleKnees, with his neon polka dot bow tie and mismatched socks, is a sight to behold. With a twinkle in his eye and a mischievous grin, he guides the singing superstars, encouraging them to hit the notes higher than the Uwharrie Mountains and deeper than the Cape Fear River. Every kid in the choir has a nickname, like Sassy Lassie who can mimic any bird song or BeatBox Bobby who drops beats as fast as the Carolina Reaper peppers drop tears. Every day, they gather in the grand halls of the Imaginarium, a castle-like building in the lively city of Raleigh, where music, laughter, and a whole lot of fun echo off the walls. Together, they create a wild cacophony of tunes that could make even the strictest music teacher tap their feet and the grumpiest gargoyle on the castle roof crack a smile. Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups. School-year JAM is a great opportunity for school students aged 8 to 17 years old to learn old-time music in the traditional Appalachian style of singing and playing by ear. Students have the opportunity to learn the guitar, fiddle, and mandolin after school, with classes taking place for one hour a week throughout the school year in Caldwell County. The Summer JAM program also offers students the opportunity to learn old-time music in the traditional Appalachian style, this time for 10 weeks at The HUB Station Arts Center in Hudson. Students aged 8 to 17 years old can choose from the guitar, fiddle, and mandolin and take part in a great educational experience. School-year JAM and the Summer JAM program are great ways for young people to learn traditional Appalachian music and practice playing the guitar, fiddle, and mandolin. With classes held after school and in the Summer, students aged 8 to 17 years old can take advantage of the opportunity to learn and master old-time music in Caldwell County and Hudson.
