About White Pine Programs

We believe that everyone has a unique connection to nature, and we strive to create programs that can be accessible to all. Our programs include birding, nature skills, nature study, hiking and camping, all of which are centered around core nature connection practices such as gratitude, acknowledgement of the land and its original stewards, song, play and nature exploration. Our intention is to create a safe and inclusive environment where participants can be curious, vulnerable and whole-hearted. We are committed to providing experiences that foster personal resilience, inspire environmental stewardship, and bring people together in community.

Ways of the Wild
Ways of the Wild (aka/WoW) is a full-day, all outdoor forest school program for children ages 7-14 designed to support their growth and development through immersion in nature. While the curricular focus includes wilderness survival skills, naturalist knowledge and self-care, the days are centered on learning about what it means to be honest, compassionate, respectful and responsible humans. Mentors set clear conduct expectations and support the development of positive interpersonal relationships between individuals, within small groups and among the larger WoW community.

Your child(ren) will learn about themselves, each other, and nature through engaging nature-based learning opportunities that explore “Wild Play,” naturalist & bushcraft skills, environmental stewardship, and nature-connection through a restorative lens.
