In the vibrant and diverse state of Maryland, there exists a group of kids known as the "Crab Capoeiristas". Now, these aren't your average Joe kids, mind you. They practice an ancient Brazilian martial art known as Capoeira, which is as much a dance, a game, and a song as it is a martial art. The state of Maryland, fondly nicknamed the "Old Line State", is nestled between the great Potomac River and the enchanting Chesapeake Bay. It's a state that loves its blue crabs, hence the name of our Capoeira crew. The "Crab Capoeiristas" train in the shadow of the Chesapeake Bay, on the sandy beaches, or in the heart of the charming city of Baltimore, amidst the echoing laughter of its lively neighborhoods. The Crab Capoeiristas are led by Captain Blue Claw, an imaginary blue crab with impressive capoeira skills and a witty sense of humor. He's more flexible than a cooked spaghetti, and faster than a sneeze in a hurricane, making him the best Capoeira master in all of Maryland. These kids are as fearless as a honey badger and as nimble as a gazelle. They can swivel, twist and twirl like a spinning top, and there isn't a move too tricky for them to master. Capoeira to them is not just an activity, it's a way of life! They train hard, laugh harder and care the hardest for each other. As Captain Blue Claw often says with a chuckle, "In Maryland, we don't play Crab Soccer, we do Crab Capoeira!" The kids have learned much more than just martial arts from him; they've learned to respect each other, love their state, and most importantly, to always have fun whatever they do.
