The academy is run by head instructor Rene Abusado, who is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has years of experience in Judo, Wrestling, and other martial arts. With the expertise of the entire team of instructors, Worcester MMA/BJJ Abusado TEAM is the perfect place to start your journey in martial arts. With top-notch instruction, a safe and friendly atmosphere, and convenient location, Worcester MMA/BJJ Abusado TEAM is the premier martial arts academy for Central Massachusetts.

WMMA/Team Abusado is hands down the best place to train and has everything you will need to thrive as a martial artist and as a person. The coaches are friendly, skilled teachers, and amazingly talented Jiu Jitsukas. The head-coach/master-sensei, Dan Simmler, is always available, supportive, a seemingly endless source of knowledge, and works hard to create an empowering environment for all of his students. Beyond an amazing crew of coaches, the WMMA community is equally outstanding. From the children’s classes that typically have between 8-15 students and multiple coaches to keep the kids moving/growing, to women only seminars, to private lessons to help get you over that stubborn plateau, I cannot overemphasize how great this community is. Whether you are looking for competition, self-defense, mental-physical self-cultivation, a place where your kid can learn discipline and burn off that extra energy, Worcester MMA/Team Abusado is what you are looking for.
