These adults work hard to ensure that the campers have a fun, safe, and memorable experience. The core staff at Odyssey Teen Camp are incredibly dedicated. They return year after year and work long, tough hours to make the camp a success. Despite the hard work, these staff members still manage to make sure that everyone is having a good time. Through their leadership, the campers learn to accept and appreciate themselves for who they are. Founded in 1923 by Jewish union activists in New York City, Camp Kinderland has been a place for working-class families to escape the city for over three-quarters of a century. Through its program, Kinderland celebrates the labor movement and other progressive causes. Over the years, the camp has honored and celebrated the International Brigades in Spain, anti-fascist efforts in the World War II era, economic reform, and the civil rights and anti-war movements. Camp Kinderland is a living testament to the values of social justice and progressive secular Jewish roots.
