Their leader is a whimsical character named Doodle McSpray, an old sea captain with a beard as wild as a porcupine’s dream and a hat decorated with glittering bottle caps. Doodle loves to tell stories about his adventures on the high seas, each one more wildly exaggerated than the last. Once, he claimed to have seen a rainbow-colored whale that spat out colorful water jets, which he used to paint his ship! But what Doodle loves most is inspiring the kids. He teaches them how to see the fantastic in the ordinary, how a simple box could be a rocket to the moon, or a paper plate could be a warrior's mighty shield. Rainbow Family Daycare provides a safe and fun learning environment for children between 18 months and 5 years old. Our hours of operation are from 7:30am to 5pm, Monday through Thursday. We are closed on Fridays. We offer both full-time and part-time slots to accommodate our families' needs. We have been operating for over three decades in a residential home in Swampscott, MA. This home was the site of a small grocery market before I converted it into a licensed Large Family Daycare in 1981. We provide a preschool-style environment where children can learn and grow in a homey atmosphere.

Our open play space is designed to replicate a town in the North Shore, where children can use their imaginations to take on a variety of roles. At the grocery store, they can pretend to be the cashier and the customers. At the hospital, they can be doctors and nurses. In the kitchen, they can be chefs who create their own dishes. And at the construction site, they can build and create. With access to a variety of toys and games, kids can be an important part of the BKIDS community. At BKIDS, we understand how important it is for young children to learn and develop their skills in an exciting and fun environment. Our play area is designed to provide a safe and stimulating atmosphere where kids can use their imaginations to explore a variety of roles. From shopping at the grocery store to being doctors at the hospital, kids can take on a range of roles and build their skills in the process. We also provide access to toys and games, so kids can use their creativity to be part of the BKIDS community. They can build and create at the construction site, or become chefs in the kitchen and create their own dishes. By playing together and with others, kids can gain a better understanding of the world around them and develop vital life skills.
