Their leader is a ten-year-old boy named Slugger Sam, a lean, mean, baseball-hitting machine. Sam, who has a secret superpower of turning any fruit into a baseball, is well-known for his ‘Apple Smack’ and ‘Watermelon Whack’. It's a sight that leaves the crowd laughing their hats off, as a burst of apple juice or a splash of watermelon flies through the air after his powerful swing! The Mini Red Sox play under the watchful eyes of Sox, a mischievous, magical squirrel. Sox, who wears a tiny Red Sox cap, has a knack for making the most boring practice drills hilariously entertaining. Just when you think you've seen it all, Sox might just replace a baseball with an acorn or perform a nutty cha-cha on the pitcher's mound! Baseball in Massachusetts is not just a game, it's a festival of fun and teamwork. Red Sky is an outgrowth of Soundview Sports Camps of New York, founded in 1995. Red Sky owner and director Blair Moynahan is the son of Steve Moynahan, founder, owner and director of Soundview in New York. Blair has developed Red Sky into an institution that focuses on the whole child, emphasizing the importance of personal growth and development of each individual through sport and physical activity.
