About Jody's School Of Dancing

Welcome to Jody's School of Dancing. Our dance year begins in September and ends in June and we hope that in those months, you will obtain the knowledge and love of dance which will become a special part of your life. We assume and enjoy the responsibility of conveying to you our dancing expertise in a serious but enjoyable fashion. Emphasis is placed on the development of poise, coordination, perception, and physical and mental discipline. Our teachers have been dancing during the summer months to bring you fresh dance material for our upcoming season.

Pre-Ballet

This class is offered for students 2 to 4 yrs. This is a creative movement class, that teaches the basics of ballet and basic coordination skills. Pre-ballet is taught with the use of props, music, and songs. Please be aware that students may be placed in pre-ballet for two consecutive years based on their age. Pre-ballet will perform in our recital.

Pre-Tap

Ages 4 and 5. Pre-tap is a ½ hour introductory course. Students must be enrolled in pre-ballet to register for pre-tap. Since this is an introductory course, pre-tap cannot be taken alone. This class will perform in our recital.

Jazz

Ages 6 and up. Jazz classes consist of a jazz technique warm-up, stretches, progressions, and center combinations.
