About GraceWorks Childcare

At GraceWorks, we strive to provide a warm, nurturing environment for children from 15 months to 14 years old and their families. We are a non-denominational, culturally responsive program that welcomes all families and encourages children to grow both socially and academically. Our curriculum is designed to tap into children’s natural curiosity and interests in order to help them develop to their fullest potential. The GraceWorks Oversight Committee, a Vestry of Grace Episcopal Church, provides support and oversight to ensure that the program is run in the most efficient and effective way. Since 1998, GraceWorks has been a beacon of hope in the community, providing a safe and welcoming environment for children and families. We are dedicated to helping children reach their full potential and become active members of their communities.

Toddler & Toddler/Preschool Programs

Our Toddler Room is licensed for 7 children per day; our Toddler/Preschool Room is licensed for 9 children per day. We require a minimum of two days/week enrollment. These classes do not offer partial day enrollment. The GraceWorks Early Childhood Program is licensed by the Department of Early Education for Children (DEEC) to provide year-round care for a combined count of 53 children/day for our toddler, pre-school and pre-kindergarten programs. In our younger Toddler Room children range from 15 months through 2.9 years old. GraceWorks also has a mixed class with older toddlers and preschoolers. In this class the children's ages range from approximately 2 years - 3 years old. Children in this age group are moving from the dependency of infancy to the independence of preschool years. The emphasis is on helping children to develop their self-reliance in a supportive environment.

Preschool Class

In our Preschool Class children ages 2.9 to 4 years old enjoy a stimulating, learning environment. The children are exposed to activities which promote school readiness skills. They have the opportunity to play, create and explore inside and outdoors everyday. Children go on a few field trips each year, mainly during the summer months.

Pre-Kindergarten

The Pre-Kindergarten classrooms use a thematic approach to the curriculum. the function of GraceWorks' Pre-K program is to prepare the children for a smooth transition from a preschool to a regular school environment. The teachers strive to prepare each child academically, socially and emotionally. Teaching methods aim towards meeting each child's individual needs while maintaining a consistent standard of learning for the entire classroom. In addition teachers work to maximize each child's self-esteem and personal development. Math, science, phonics, writing skills, art, cooking and music are incorporated into lesson plans. And above all, the children have fun!

Afterschool Program

Children have the opportunity to interact in several small-group environments, including an activity room, homework room and game and computer room. GraceWorks children also participate in various clubs, including cooking, sewing, music, science and computer clubs.
