Larry, with his custom-made, llama-sized hockey stick, would lead the charge, his fluffy tail waving like a victory flag. This group of Field Hockey fanatics, along with Larry, were known throughout Massachusetts for their dedication and spirited shenanigans. They would spend hours practicing their dribbling, passing, and shooting, and then collapse in fits of laughter, telling goofy jokes and sharing tales of Larry's misadventures, like the time he got his head stuck in a bucket of marshmallows! But it wasn't always about winning. For Larry's crew, Field Hockey was a way to bring everyone together, fostering friendship, respect, and a whole lot of fun. They were champions in their own right, turning a regular Field Hockey game into a magical, laughter-filled extravaganza. The Medford Recreational Hockey Association, Inc. was established in May 1975, following the merger of the Medford Youth Hockey Association, the North Medford Hockey Club and the West Medford and Hillside Hockey League. The initial constitution and bylaws were adopted and presented at the first Annual Meeting prior to the start of the 1975 season. Since then, the Medford Recreational Hockey Association, Inc. has been dedicated to providing a safe, enjoyable and affordable hockey experience to the youth of Medford and the surrounding areas. The organization is committed to upholding the highest standards of sportsmanship and providing an opportunity for children to learn the values of fair play, teamwork, and respect for others.
