The classes, camps and experiences this business offers.

Pre-School I & II
Children in the preschool programs are guided through the process of following a simple routine, making friends, communicating their needs and ideas, developing self control over action and emotion and exploring a variety of social/emotional language and cognitive activities in a warm, safe and nurturing environment. The teachers in this class are assisted by parents on a rotating basis approximately once every 4-5 weeks. Mom or Dad work in the classroom as the assistant to the teacher. The parent helper is an important element of the program by participating in the supervision of the children, the activities that are offered and bring a healthy snack to share with the class on their child’s “Special Day”. The programs are a unique and wonderful beginning to early childhood education for both parent and child.

Pre-Kindergarten
The PreK class is designed for the four or five year old that will be entering Kindergarten the following year. The program continues the important foundation of social and emotional development started in our preschool program. The increase in communication skills, as well as the growing sense of independence, shifts the focus of the program to include more work on problem solving and social skills. To this end, the teachers encourage and support creative thinking, curiosity and independent decision making through a project approach to curriculum. The students in this class will be offered a wide range of experiences and opportunities for learning. The curriculum considers the needs and interest of the group and addresses each of the important areas of learning: math, science, social studies, language and literacy. Each day includes an opportunity for children to eat lunch at school with their peers. Teachers invite parents to join the classroom on a volunteer basis.

Summer Program
STEAM into Summer! Building off of Loft School’s almost 60-year history as the premier cooperative preschool in the tri-town area, we are pleased offer an enriching summer program for children ages 2.9-5. Enrollment is limited to ensure a low student-teacher ratio and the summer program emphasizes learning through play.
