The Holyoke Youth Baseball League was founded in 1950 by a group of men in Springfield, MA. The league was designed for 8 to 10-year-old children, providing teams with complete uniforms and the best equipment. The league was sponsored by businesses, civic organizations, social clubs, and fraternal organizations. Additionally, each team was to be overseen by an adult supervisor.
Since its inception, the Holyoke Youth Baseball League has been providing children in the area the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the game and to develop their skills.
