About Little Peoples College

Since 1980, Little People’s College has been providing quality childcare, daycare, before/after school care, and summer camp in Southeast Mass. Our goal is to ensure that each and every child feels safe and loved while in our care. We believe that a relaxed, trusting, and caring atmosphere is essential for a child to have a positive experience. Our knowledgeable staff provides children with the opportunity to explore their interests, develop friendships, and grow in independence, respect for themselves and others. We are here to support and challenge your child’s development and help them find a love for creative learning.

Infant Care & Day Care

Our infant care provides a cozy and nurturing sleep environment, following safety regulations and prevention of SIDS. Individual sleeping areas are equipped with a mobile or music box, providing babies with a comfortable, relaxing musical experience. Children are in their cribs ONLY when napping.

Toddler Daycare Programs for One Year Olds

Growth is rapid during the first year of life. However, one year olds still have several infant tendencies. These rooms are designed to encourage young toddlers to take their first steps! With safety in mind, we keep them separate from the older, more active two year olds. Soft elements provide a safe and nurturing place for younger toddlers to learn and experiment. Soft materials, carpeting and climbers encourage toddlers to exercise gross motor skills in a safe atmosphere.

Preschool Programs

Every day in our preschool programs is a new learning adventure. Our floor plans are strategically designed to allow for quiet areas, as well as those that enhance and extend play. We encourage independence by teaching children to self-serve meals, and to put on their own coats and hats. Children are taught to think, reason, experiment and formulate their own ideas. Learning comes alive as you walk into any of our preschool classrooms. Beginning with the handcrafted furniture and top-of-the-line supplies to the daily interactions and activities, each room is designed to promote development in all areas of learning.

Pre-kindergarten Programs

Our curriculum for four year olds expands upon the skills learned in preschool. As children continue to grow, we continue to find ways to challenge their curiosity. Walk into any Pre-kindergarten classroom and you will see an explosion of learning, accomplished by secure, happy children. Sit in any classroom and you will hear the sounds of learning and laughter. You will feel the energy of children actively engaged as they learn through play. Note the focus on literacy, with both library and writing centers in the classroom.

Before and After Programs (School Age)

All school age children have the opportunity to complete homework or school projects in a space especially designed to allow children to focus on their work. Homework areas are supplied with computers, references and reinforcement activities. Teachers provide one-on-one attention and help children with their assigned school work. This gives parents and children the ability to spend more time together at the end of the day.
