About Art Makers Outpost

At our business, we are dedicated to fostering creative reuse and community partnerships, all while promoting environmental consciousness and social responsibility. We source materials in a variety of ways to ensure that we are using all of these elements. To help local businesses, we identify their excess materials and potential throw away items, recyclables and scraps that can be used in our repurposing studio. We are also proud to partner with community groups dedicated to green initiatives to collaborate and collect materials from various warehouses and organizations. This helps us to limit our impact on local landfills, while also assisting in creating an environmentally aware community. We also work with individuals in our community to create regular pick ups and drop offs of materials that are ready for reuse. This helps to ensure that each of our business and organizational partners are proudly named as our partners. By doing so, we are able to elevate each of our partners and showcase their dedication to our mission.

AFTER SCHOOL YOUTH ARTIST & MAKERS IN RESIDENCY PROGRAM

At Art Makers Outpost youth aged 6-14 immerse themselves in eco-conscience art making. Each session through our unique free-form art making approach your child will have the opportunity to make whatever they would like. Each day there will be a creative demo by our artist facilitators that will give your young artist the opportunity to learn and try something new…. Demos may include: imaginative & whimsical creature creation, wearable art, abstract sculptures, 2-D design, paper-mache, wood working projects, mosaics & tiling, glitterizing, painting techniques, sewing, jewelry making, creative wall art, 3D design, lights and shadows, projects using paint, adhesives, tools, various surfaces, wire, glass, wood, clay, plastics, rubber, metal and SO MUCH MORE!

MORNING CAMP

Each week we will embark on a creative exploration of awesome new and recycled materials using techniques in painting, collaging, sewing, printmaking, sculpture, 3D &. 2D design, drawing, watercolor/ alcohol ink exploration, woodworking, jewelry making, beading, imaginative reuse, mixed media and so much more. Your young artist will learn to use various tools, while they explore our studio full of reclaimed & new materials small and large while they create various free-form project based work! Hands-on skilled artist facilitators work at our camps making your young artists experience unique and fun. Each day will begin with a demonstration focused on new materials, techniques and/or ideas for projects…..What can you make you ask? Anything you can imagine is our answer!

MURAL CAMP

Mural Camp is another special offering from Art Makers Outpost and will take place this summer over 2 weeks from July 10th-21st Monday-Thursday culminating in an unveiling celebration of their murals on July 21st from 2-3pm. This is a two week immersive mural camp experience hosted at Art Makers Outpost facilitated by Valerie Kahan & Fellow artists TBD.
