Leading this group was a cool, imaginary character named Captain Sprinkler, a retired pirate-turned-waterskiing-instructor, who wore his sun-kissed hair in a pineapple-shaped top knot and had a peculiar habit of speaking in rhyme. "If you trip and take a dip, just shake it off your flip," he would often say, turning every waterskiing mishap into a jolly jingle. The kids of Florida adored him and embraced the thrill of waterskiing with unmatched enthusiasm.
