Kirk Cottrell started Island Camps in 1978 with a simple dream, to take the surf-hungry groms of the swell-deprived Florida coast to find some real waves. What began as a single surf trip has grown into a full-fledged South Florida business, offering not only surfing but skateboarding, stand up paddling and skimboarding. We provide unforgettable memories and relationships that last a lifetime, all while challenging individuals to get out of their comfort zone, face fears and have fun. Our family of professional instructors are passionate and knowledgeable about what they teach and excited to share their experiences with the next generation.

DEERFIELD BEACH SURF CAMP

Join us for the most trusted surf camp in South Florida. Island Camps has over 44 years of experience in surf lessons, surf camps, and surf trips. We love to share our knowledge of the ocean and teach kids how to surf!! Our goal is to empower the youth to live a healthy and fun lifestyle and to teach them to love our beaches and our ocean. As partners with the City of Deerfield we are blessed to operate our spring, summer and winter camps just north of the beautiful Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier. Surf camp is open to all skill levels. Whether you're learning how to pop up or perfecting your bottom turn we have the instructors you need to take your surfing to the next level.

BOCA RATON SURF CAMP

Join us for the best and most trusted surf camp in South Florida. Island Camps has over 40 years of experience in surf lessons, surf camps, and surf trips. Our Boca Raton Surf school has been around since 2007 at Red Reef park and has become a staple within Boca Raton. We love to share our knowledge of the ocean and teach kids how to surf!! Our goal is to empower the youth to live a healthy and fun lifestyle while respecting our beaches and our ocean. As partners the City of Boca Raton we are blessed to operate our spring, summer and winter camps at Red Reef Park. Surf camp is open to all skill levels. Whether your learning how to pop up or perfecting your bottom turn we have the instructors you need to take your surfing to the next level.
